Kristen DeHart
CEO
Kristen DeHart joined MidAmerica Rehabilitation Hospital in 2003. She graduated from the University of Kansas Medical Center with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy in 1989. Her enthusiasm comes from being part of a dynamic team that focuses on getting every patient back to their greatest level of independence.

Cielo Navato-Dehning
Medical Director
Dr. Cielo Navato-Dehning, MD, graduated from the University of Missouri – Kansas City and completed residency training at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She finished residency in 1995 with the distinction of Chief Resident. Her specialty is spinal cord injury medicine.

Damon Parker
Chief Nursing Officer
Damon joined MidAmerica Rehabilitation Hospital in 2010.  He graduated from Saint Luke's College of Nursing in Kansas City, Mo.  In line with his commitment to lifelong learning, Damon has continued his education, studying business and healthcare management at the graduate level.  He came to MidAmerica with a nursing management background experienced in critical care, epidemiology, telemetry and wound management.  Under his direction are the nursing, infection prevention and wound management, education, respiratory therapy and radiology departments.

Paul Matlack, MS, OT

Paul Matlack has been with MidAmerica Rehabilitation Hospital for more than six years and has held the director position since the end of 2004. He earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and his master’s degree in occupational therapy.


Tiffany Kiehl
DMO
Tiffany Kiehl joined MidAmerica in 2003. She graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy. She has more than 12 years of experience with a unique blend of acute inpatient rehabilitation and sales/marketing.  Her team strives to portray how MidAmerica provides a higher level of care to its patients and can ensure a smooth transition to inpatient rehabilitation.

Richard Lane
Controller
Rick Lane joined MidAmerica in June 2004 and has an extensive health care finance background with acute care hospitals in Kansas City. He has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.

Kristen Barrett
Director Quality / Risk Management
Kristen Barrett joined MidAmerica Rehabilitation Hospital in 2011.  She graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The Quality Management Department continually strives to improve upon the patient experience and patient outcomes. The department is committed to supporting the hospital with an integrated system of quality that promotes: patient safety, performance improvement, regulatory compliance, data management and patient outcome measures. Quality is not a department, but rather how we do business.

James Zarr
Dr. James Zarr graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia and University of Missouri Medical Center.  He completed his residency at Ohio State University Hospitals.  He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.  He has more than 25 years of experience in rehabilitation medicine, including the role of medical director of brain injury programs and acute inpatient rehabilitation units.  He currently acts as the director for MidAmerica Rehabilitation Hospital's brain injury program.

Stephen Rosenberg
Dr. Stephen Rosenberg received his bachelor's degree from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. , graduated from Kansas City's University of Health Sciences and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Baylor University Medical Center.  He has completed internship programs at Frankford Hospital and the Wound Healing Center.  He has been on the Kansas Board of Healing Arts Occupational Therapy Council, is a Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Kansas School of Medicine's Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and a University of Kansas medical student preceptor.  He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and serves as the director for the stroke program at MidAmerica Rehabilitation Hospital.

Holly Ray
Director Human Resources
Holly holds a master’s degree in human resources and PHR, Professional in Human Resources. She oversees all areas of human resources, such as recruitment and retention, benefits, employee relations, and worker’s compensation. Her door is always open! Working here, you can be a part of the fantastic patient outcomes!

Cassandra Muzic
Director of Case Management
Casey joined MidAmerica Rehabilitation Hospital in 2007.  She holds a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas, and has worked in the healthcare field for more than 12 years.  Her team's goal is to maximize patient outcomes and ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction.

Jeremy Newport
Director Plant Operations

Jeremy joined MidAmerica Rehabilitation Hospital in 2008 as the director of plant operations.  He graduated from Fort Scott Community College with an Associates of Science degree.  He has worked in healthcare for more than eleven years.  His goal is to ensure all patients are provided a clean, safe environment during their stay.
